This project involved the staged delivery of a comprehensive clubhouse and amenities upgrade at Willey Street Park in Ipswich, transforming the site into a modern, accessible sporting hub. Delivered across multiple separable portions, the works centred around the construction of a new primary clubhouse facility, supported by significant civil works, service connections, and site infrastructure to create a fully integrated community asset.
The development included new and upgraded pedestrian connections, DDA-compliant pathways, car parking, and a commercial-grade driveway, improving accessibility and circulation across the site. Additional works featured the refurbishment of existing buildings, including converting the former canteen into a dedicated first aid facility and upgrading amenities infrastructure, alongside the construction of a new storage building. Extensive civil and environmental works – including stormwater management, earthworks, and contaminated soil remediation – were carefully managed to ensure long-term site performance and safety.
Delivered within a complex operating environment, the project required careful staging to maintain public access to the active BMX facility while managing environmental constraints associated with the site’s history as a former landfill. The result is a cohesive, fit-for-purpose facility that enhances usability, safety, and functionality, providing the local community with a high-quality sporting and recreational destination built for long-term use.
